#UNFIT

TYPE: Documentary Feature
GENRE: Documentary
STATUS: Pre-Production

LOGLINE

#UNFIT is a feature-length documentary film in which medical doctors, mental health professionals and leading Republican influencers go on the record, for the record. (Finally!)

It's an eye-opening discussion, analysis, and science-based examination of the behavior, psyche, condition, and stability of President Donald Trump, which addresses the question many people are now asking:

"Is Donald Trump psychologically fit to be President?"

SYNOPSIS

In 2016, mental health professionals began to speak out in large numbers warning the public about a dangerously disordered president. In what came to be known as the Duty to Warn movement, tens of thousands  signed petitions, met with congressional leaders and marched in the streets. Never before, anywhere in the world, has the mental health community felt the need to alert the public about a leader so grossly ill that he presents an imminent threat to our way of life, liberty and global security. Trump has attacked the rule of law, the courts, long standing institutions and the free press.

Using anecdotal references, we will connect the dots between Trump's behavior and what we observe to be  conditions of paranoia, anti-social personality disorder, narcissism and sadism.  These traits are collectively termed Malignant Narcissism, often referred to as the "quintessence of evil".

His madness is contagious. From the cult-like characteristics of his followers to the trauma normal people have experienced under his administration, Trump has created unprecedented mental health consequences around the globe. Should we all be pulled into the abyss by Trump walking the edge of disaster to feed his narcissism? The answer is a resounding no.

ARTISTIC STATEMENT

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO MAKE THIS FILM.

As documentary filmmakers it is our job is to shed light and truth on issues that we think may serve the common good. Getting the general public to recognize the “imminent threat” of Trump’s psychological disorders requires a credible and powerful piece of communication. Just as An Inconvenient Truth significantly expanded and legitimized the conversation around climate change, #UNFIT will legitimize the conversation about the mental health of our most public figure.

We will interview mental health professionals, politicians, journalists, and members of the mainstream media, many of whom are Republicans and often the loudest voices against Trump, as well as citizens who have been the brunt of his ridicule, rage and assault.

#Unfit will be the first of its kind to delve into the mind of a politician, something that has in the past been frowned upon in the psychiatric community.  The "Right" refuse to talk about Trump’s instability but rather brand those that criticize him as un-American. The filmmakers and our partners in the mental health community feel that NOT to warn the public would be a complete abdication of professional responsibility.

We need your support. Without you there will not be a film.

This film was always a passionate duty-based mission. HOWEVER, it has become incredibly timely in the past weeks, as investigations move forward, his fear and desperation increases, and his false narratives threaten to produce malignant normality (a societal ill in which a leader's distorted perception of reality is accepted as normal). We know we NEED to get this into the narrative, more than ever.
