LOGLINE

SOUND & LIGHT(working title) is a series of dramatic stories shared onlineas well as online initiatives that support Frontline Workers, Broadway Cares / Equity Fights Aids and The Actor's Fund. Many of the productions will focus on topics of immediate concern, including Social Justice, Racial Equality, Gun Control, Environmental concerns. The productions will, star top Broadway talent. The Broadway Podcast Network will host the programming and support these special productions with Social Media, Marketing, etc.

SYNOPSIS

SOUND & LIGHT(working title) keeps storytelling alive during the global pandemic. This special project brings top creators, directors and performers together to perform dramatic stories from the safety of their own homes. SOUND & LIGHT is committed to launching initiates that raise money and awareness for urgent issues related to Social Justice, Racial Equality, Gun Control and Environental concerns. 

ARTISTIC STATEMENT

SOUND & LIGHT(working title) aims to keep engaging and inventive storytelling alive during the pandemic. These stories - performed in everyone's own home - will be hosted by the Broadway Podcast Network on most podcast platforms (including Apple, Spotify, YouTube, Stitcher, etc....) specifically with the goal of raising financing for COVID-19 Emergency Funds, Broadway Cares / Equity Fights Aids and The Actor's Fund. Our launch projects "Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors" and "Bleeding Love" feature the following Broadway and TV stars: John Stamos, Laura Benanti, Alex Brightman, Annaligh Ashford, Sarah Stiles, Annie Golden, James Monroe Igelhart, Rob McClure, Richard Kind, Ashley Park and Christopher Siebert. The series of stories, written by top (out-of-work) creators and performed by extraordinary (out-of-work) actors, will be enhanced by cutting edge sound f/x to enhance the storytelling experience. Our intent is to build a fundraising campaign around the roll-out of the series to bring support to organizations on the front lines of the pandemic.

Dori Berinstein - Producer
Dori is a four-time Tony-winning Broadway producer, an Emmy-award-winning director, producer and writer of film and television and the founder and CEO of The Broadway Podcast Network. Dori’s most recent Broadway production is The Prom (Best Musical – Drama Desk Award). Dori is partnered with Ryan Murphy on the Netflix adaptation, starring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, James Cordon, Keegan-Michael Key, Andrew Rannells and Kerry Washington. Dori’s other Broadway shows include: Marianne Elliot’s revival of Company, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (Tony Award – Best Play Revival); Legally Blonde: The Musical (Olivier Award – Best Musical), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Tony Award – Best Musical), The Crucible, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (Tony Award – Best Play Revival), Fool Moon (Special Tony Award), Flower Drum Song, Enchanted April and Golden Child. As an award-winning Documentary Filmmaker, Dori directed, wrote and produced: ShowBusiness: The Road To Broadway (Showtime); Marvin Hamlisch: What He Did For Love (Emmy Award / American Masters); Carol Channing: Larger Than Life (Showtime); Gotta Dance (adapted for the stage as Half Time); Some Assembly Required and the documentary short The Last Blintz. Dori is the Co-Founder and CEO of Broadway Podcast Network, the digital headquarters for top theatre Podcasts, musical podcasts & plays and virtual theatre-related programming (www.broadwaypodcastnetwork.com). Dori executive produced and/or supervised over 50 feature, special f/x and/or animated productions, including Isaac Mizrahi’s award-winning documentary Unzipped, Dirty Dancing (both the feature & TV series) and Jim Henson’s MuppetVision 3-D. ] and Walt Disney Imagineering.
