LOGLINE

Two young women become unwittingly embroiled in the dark and menacing world of a wish-granting company run by a mysterious Genie.

SYNOPSIS

TWO NEIGHBORS is a satire based on Aesop’s fable “Avaricious & Envious”.

A wish-granting foundation run by a magical Genie puts out an open call for applicants. Two women, Stacy and Becky, are hand selected. As their meeting progresses, Stacy and Becky grow increasingly hostile towards one another, and what began as an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity quickly devolves into chaos and violence.

ARTISTIC STATEMENT

TWO NEIGHBORS is a dystopian fever dream that explores the complex nature of individualism, which at its extreme holds out the possibility of total liberation and total isolation. On its surface, TWO NEIGHBORS is the story of two self-absorbed women whose reciprocal spite results in their mutual destruction. At the same time, it is a story about gender dynamics, market culture and the danger of desires we fail to understand. It is a story of a poisoned fantasy, told unsparingly.
