A riveting cinematic journey through the intertwined worlds of climate science, the petrochemical industry, and the increasing threat of modern wildfires.
ARTISTIC STATEMENT
Our film will use drone footage and slow-motion filming to capture the terror, beauty, and “personality” of fire. Renowned photographer Edward Burtynsky will be a valued member of our creative team and will also be featured as a character, as he shoots artistic film and stills capturing the drama of active wildfires and the devastation they leave in their wake. Burtynsky is known for capturing “the negative sublime” of corrupted landscapes, combining fine art and advocacy with his acclaimed aerial perspectives. His photography was featured in 3 acclaimed documentaries: Manufactured Landscapes, Watermark, and Anthropocene: The Human Epoch.
