LOGLINE

At a decaying utopian commune, Ellison must contend with the suspicious arrival of her wayward brother.

SYNOPSIS

On the morning of the yearly revelry at little bunker hill, Ellison's estranged brother arrives suddenly. The other women love and accept him without question. With prospective new members on the way and Rudy's authority growing, Ellison is torn between their belief system, and her own well-being.

ARTISTIC STATEMENT

little bunker hill is a passion project for everyone involved. The project was a collision between three heady forces: my hangups, my lengthy obsession with the transcendentalists, and my frustration with the trend toward posterity, that history must be ignored in order to achieve progress. During the research our team conducted while developing this movie, we discovered that radical ideas have deep roots in the colonial United States. This movie tracks a universal restless need to redefine our sense of self.

KEY CREW

Matthew Philip Gill - Director - Writer - Producer

Matt made a period film the modern way: overpaying for a grad school degree; working dead-end jobs; leveraging goodwill, relationships and credit. Born from this process came this debut (little bunker hill), and a devotion to a family-style mode of filmmaking.
