ARTISTIC STATEMENT
DEAR DOGGIE, I wrote this comedy flick because we needed it. Because I’ve lost two of my best friends in the world over the past decade over some bullshit. Homies who I thought would be there for the entirety of our lives. Seriously. I’ve always thought HOMIES were just as important companions as romantic partners. They’re fucking family. There for the long haul. There for our kids to continue the homieship. And their kids and so on. Anyways…I’ve felt this deep longing for a hangout movie that captured the essence of our generation. Children of immigrants. From middle class suburbs. Early Adulthood Homies who grew up with social media but also love analogue. And represent the heterogeneous cliques of the 21st century. No tokens. No discrimination. Or at least none that we can think of until we’re called out for it. And in that case a homie deserves to be corrected. It’s a love story. And I love you for taking a look. Hope you think it’s sick. And hell yea I wrote this in my voice cause that’s the vibe. Hoping this can help all the homies out there in some way. Much love, Stef Deezy
