Two down-and-out New Yorkers meet for the first time and embark on a five-borough food crawl together. Though they share a love of food, their relationships to their bodies are very different. Not to mention that while he is intent on escaping reminders of his romantic and professional shortcomings, she is more literally on the run from an ex who is hot on her heels. As they eat their way through the city, they find that a connection between two lonely souls may be possible after all.

SYNOPSIS

In the tiny parlor room of a Staten Island church, GIOVANNI ROTUNNO (37), confesses his food addiction at Overeater’s Anonymous. But the thing, he is a great chef and dreams of opening a restaurant one day but his conflict with food and self-love prevents him from even trying. So, Giovanni works as a pastry delivery driver by day and chats with his online girlfriend, ANNALUV (25), at night. Only they’ve never met and Annaluv doesn’t even know what he looks like. Regardless, their relationship has progressed to deeper emotional levels over the past few months and Annaluv gives an ultimatum – meet or it’s over!

Forced to face reality, they finally meet but Annaluv runs from him without uttering a word. This sends Giovanni on a downward spiral and he goes to his favorite pizzeria to eat his sorrows away. That’s when Giovanni meets PRISCILLA JONES (34), a fast-talking, fat activist determined to change the world with her Body Positivity. As it turns out, Priscilla is "leaving New York" and has decided to end her city-life by going on five-borough restaurant crawl. When she invites Giovanni to come, he is hesitant because he usually eats alone, at home. Then, Giovanni is suddenly harassed by a couple of fat-shamers and Priscilla confronts them, making them apologize for their behavior. Giovanni admires Priscilla's strength and agrees to join her on her journey.

But unbeknownst to Giovanni, Priscilla is actually “on the run” from CURTIS RAPP (40), her ex-lover, a married man with a wife and kids. Priscilla stole his wallet and is going on a spending spree with his credit cards. As they move from Brooklyn to Queens and the Bronx, Curtis is always one step behind. Meanwhile, Priscilla teaches Giovanni how to love himself “just the way he is” through her steps outlined in her recently self-published book “Heavy? Wait! Lose the Frowns not the Pounds!”

Giovanni shows he has really changed when he gets a chance to cook in a restaurant and the owner offers him a job afterwards. This leads Giovanni to not only find confidence in himself but he also falls hard for Priscilla. When the time comes for Giovanni to proclaim his affection, Priscilla makes it clear that she only dates “Ryan Gosling types”. Giovanni calls her a hypocrite and they have a big fight... breaking up before reaching Manhattan together.

On the way back home, Giovanni receives a text message from Annaluv. She apologies for her erratic behavior and wants to explain herself over dinner. When they meet, Annaluv begins to tell her life story and her desire to help Giovanni lose his weight because she still loves him. Meanwhile, Curtis catches up to Priscilla and she is forced to give back his wallet. While looking at Curtis, she realizes that she is a hypocrite and she never gave someone like Giovanni a chance. Curtis is confused what that means and wants to see Priscilla again tomorrow... but Priscilla
says “she's leaving New York and there is no tomorrow”.

Priscilla heads to the View Restaurant in the middle of Times Square, and contemplates her suicide, something she has battled with her whole life. Meanwhile, Giovanni goes back to Annaluv's apartment after she asks him to. As Annaluv gets closer to him, Giovanni senses that Annaluv's feelings aren't genuine and she doesn’t love him just the way he is. He decides that he prefers Priscilla's outlook on life, so he leaves Annaluv to find her again and make amends. Knowing Priscilla's last stop was the View Restaurant, Giovanni heads there and finds her alone, deep in
thought. In the course of this long day, she has also changed. She realized things about herself she never knew existed. Together they head to a local 24 hour dinner for a coffee... and the beginning of their relationship.
